Licensing is at the core of intellectual property distribution for the entertainment, media and technology industries. In many cases, the intellectual property owner does not wish to sell the company’s crown jewels, which happen to be intangible assets, but merely to license them. Representative Experience

  • Designed the BitTorrent-based, peer-to-peer license for one of the major Hollywood studios that sought to use a web-based service to deliver film trailers and other promotional content.
  • Designed the web-based Software-as-a-Service license for a new Informatica Corporation product that will be available only via Internet access.
  • On behalf of an Internet security software manufacturer that was sold to RSA Security Inc., and ultimately to EMC, we negotiated many software license deals with large financial institutions and value-added resellers.
  • Assist in establishing merchandise licensing programs for content owners, consumer products and entertainment companies, and regularly negotiate licensing deals.
  • Handle brand and image licensing deals for many of Hollywood’s leading personalities.
