Family Wealth Practice Group Chair Jon J. Gallo Receives Honor
Greenberg Glusker today announced that Jon J. Gallo, chair of the Firm's Family Wealth Practice Group, has been selected for inclusion in Worth Magazine's "Top 100 Attorneys" in the United States for his distinguished 40+ year career dedicated to estate planning issues.
"Jon pioneered the approach of teaching parents how to transfer to their children not only their wealth but more importantly their values,” said Greenberg Glusker’s Managing Partner Norman H. Levine. “This well-deserved recognition further demonstrates our opportunity as trusted business and legal advisors to positively impact future generations.”
Worth's “Top 100 Attorneys” list, which recognizes lawyers for their outstanding expertise and commitment to their clients' needs, is the result of a year of extensive research by the magazine's editorial staff. Hundreds of nominations are received by readers, financial advisors, family office executives, accountants, consultants, academics and others who work with or closely monitor attorneys review. Then, Worth’s editors review each of the nominations to find those select attorneys who combined exceptional legal expertise with outstanding interpersonal skills.
"This designation validates my ultimate career objective of advising clients on nurturing financially intelligent children,” said Gallo. “For me, the primary focus of an estate plan is how it impacts a family with the secondary focus on the tax implications.”
Gallo writes and lectures nationally about both the technical and psychological issues of estate planning. He has authored more than 70 articles on advanced estate planning techniques, and he has co-authored two books—Silver Spoon Kids: How Successful Parents Raise Responsible Children, which TIME Magazine referred to as “a roadmap for affluent parents who want to raise financially responsible children,” and The Financially Intelligent Parent: 8 Steps to Raising Successful, Generous, Responsible Children.
In addition, Gallo is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, an Academician of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law, and he is certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization as a Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law.
